Hi, I’m Katie.

A former adventure travel guide and operations manager turned Certified OBM helping travel business owners streamline their businesses.

A Business Diploma in Outdoor Adventure Tourism?

Yes, this really is a thing! I studied at Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology in Pembroke, Ontario from 2006 – 2008. This program was a blend of technical skills like WFR 80 hour, swift water rescue 3, high angle rescue and business courses like marketing, risk management and business management.

I’ve Guided Around the World

From raft trips down the Kananaskis to horse pack trips in the Chilcotins to leading hikes in Newfoundland to support trips to Everest base Camp – I’ve guided and supported adventure trips over a decade.

I’ve Managed Operations

When not guiding, I always found myself in the office of the businesses I worked for. From summer-only Newfoundland operators to global group tours with Wild Women Expeditions, I’ve been in the backend, supported other guides and ensured things went as smoothly as possible.

I’m Always Learning

From backcountry skiing and avalanche safety in British Columbia to exploring cutting-edge software for the travel industry, or even finding more efficient methods for managing office tasks, I’m committed to nurturing my curiosity and continually refining my methods.
