Who are the Worldly Girlies?

Worldly Girlies is made up of two female professionals who have an obsession with travel – Keri Montgomery & Nicola Wilson. They are the proud owners of Finisterra Travel ltd. an adventure travel agency that provides bespoke travel adventures all over the world. During their world travels personally and professionally, they experienced the many sides of tourism from the good to the bad to the truly heartbreaking.  They quickly became aware of the troubling issue of the amount of plastic discarded everywhere. They realized they had to use their platform to promote ways to travel more sustainably and so Wordly Girlies was born.

What Opportunity did the Worldly Girlies see in Peak Flow?

After working together on several other projects, the Worldly Girlies felt comfortable handing over their marketing for their new business adventure. They had a strong knowledge of the Peak Flow team’s capabilities, work ethic and standard of work. They also knew they didn’t have the time to prepare all the launch assets themselves and wanted to delegate. Katie and Charlotte meet with Nicola and Keri to hear about their objectives and goals for their new business. Charlotte made suggestions of the direction she thought they should head in, what deliverables they would receive and a structured timeline in which things would happen. Keri and Nicola had a chance to discuss between themselves and take Charlotte’s proposal and ultimately made the decision to proceed with our Beginner Marketing package. 

They felt confident having Charlotte prepare the branded elements for the new site’s launch because she has extensive travel experience and a strong understanding of the value of sustainable products. Nicola and Keri believed Charlotte could write things in her own words and experiences about the travel industry without them having to give her a lot of direction and pointers. The goal was to take work off their plate not add more!

Why did the Worldly Girlies choose to Work with Peak Flow?

As repeat clients, Keri and Nicola knew they didn’t have to spend time looking for and vetting other agencies. They needed help getting Wordly Girlies off the ground and establishing an online presence for their new brand. The Peak Flow team has worked with Keri & Nicola on several projects, so it made sense for them to sign up for our Beginner Marketing Package. They understood the importance of things being done correctly from day 1 and wanted to delegate the work to someone they already knew and trusted.

What Success did the Worldly Girlies receive after Working with the Peak Flow team?

After building up a big audience for Finisterra, they needed to make sure things were in place and looking professional before they introduced Worldly Girlies to them. They wanted a unified aesthetic,  needed all the social platforms set up and content created to launch their new baby brand to the world.

Once the essential components were in place we began to introduce Wordly Girlies to their existing audience and with great success! In one day, they gained 60 new Instagram followers, had several people checking their new website and asked them when their products would be available for purchase.

The Challenge we faced at the Beginning and how we resolved it 

The first hurdle we had to overcome was giving Charlotte all the login information and getting the access codes to Charlotte before they timed out. We overcame this by arranging in advance when would be a convenient time for them and used what’s app and video calls to provide access. 

Secondly, we had nothing to go off of. This was a brand new business with no existing content or brand guidelines to refer back to. Charlotte looked through their Finisterra social channels and new Worldly Girlies website and began to learn how Nicola and Keri spoke and how passionate they were about travel and sustainability. Charlotte created mockup designs and different options for them and once she had approval, we all knew the direction we wanted to head in. 

The final challenge we faced and overcame was them entering a saturated market (retail) but where sustainability is now thankfully becoming very popular, it felt very natural to promote their line. To help overcome this challenge, we did an in-depth competitor analysis learning what was working for other people and implemented things to make Worldly Girlies unique to the rest. We also did in-depth niche hashtag research and optimized our posting schedule.

What happened in the Beginning process of Working together?

After the initial meeting, Charlotte mapped out a timeline and structure of what would be completed on each day.  All the deliverables were logged into their Asana platform with due dates and a clear timeline of when things needed to be reviewed. We created a timeline based on what we felt to be most important and prioritized it accordingly. 

After each task was complete an email was sent to update both Keri and Nicola which they greatly appreciated and expressed often.
